Peshawar Development Projects to Accelerate Under PSDP

The Federal Government and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government have agreed to fast-track major development projects under the Federal Public Sector Development Program (PSDP). The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting held on December 12 at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Peshawar.

Key Meeting Highlights

The meeting brought together key figures, including Chairman of the Prime Minister Inspection Commission Brigadier Muzaffar Ali Ranjha (R) and KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur. Senior officials, such as Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, were also present to ensure efficient coordination between federal and provincial stakeholders.

The discussion primarily revolved around:

  • Chitral-Shandur Road
  • Peshawar Northern Bypass
  • Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC)
  • Hangu Road

These projects are critical for boosting infrastructure, improving regional connectivity, and supporting the province’s economic growth.

Importance of the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC)

Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur emphasized the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) as a top priority. He highlighted its significant role in enhancing food security across Pakistan, particularly in KP. The CRBC Lift Canal project is expected to provide a sustainable water supply, thereby improving agricultural productivity in the region.

CM Gandapur assured full provincial support for these initiatives and urged the federal government to accelerate project implementation. He stated that all obstacles must be removed to ensure the timely completion of these vital infrastructure developments.

Commitment to Timely Execution

To ensure swift progress, directives have been issued to both federal and provincial departments. Improved coordination among relevant stakeholders will be maintained to overcome challenges and avoid delays.

The Peshawar development projects under the PSDP are poised to transform the province’s infrastructure landscape. With a focus on roads, canals, and bypasses, these initiatives aim to facilitate:

  • Enhanced transportation networks
  • Increased agricultural output
  • Improved regional connectivity

The Federal and KP governments’ commitment to expediting PSDP projects marks a significant step toward economic growth and infrastructure development in the region. These initiatives will not only strengthen KP’s economy but also contribute to the overall progress of Pakistan.
